November’s Online Sports Betting Schedule
If you thought October was big for betting on sports at your favorite online sportsbook, this November’s schedule is jam-packed with options from the first day of the month right through the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. There are actually five weekends in November and each one of them features some excellent betting options to boost your online betting bankroll.
The first Sunday of the month kicks off the second half of the NFL regular season. Week 9 of the schedule also marks the start of the official countdown to this season’s playoffs and the march to Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Sunday, Feb. 2.
It appears to be a lock that the New England Patriots will be back in the postseason to defend last season’s NFL title at a perfect 8-0 through the first half of their schedule. They already have a two and a half-game lead over the next best teams in the AFC.
The New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers are off to 7-1 starts in the NFC as two of the top favorites to win the NFC this season. Yet, the biggest story in that conference has been the undefeated San Francisco 49ers at 7-0. The race for this conference title is deep with contenders in what should remain a tight playoff race right through Week 17 of the regular season.
When it comes to the college football season, the SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide and ACC’s Clemson Tigers are once again in perfect position for a national title run at 8-0. Joining them at the top of the national rankings is the SEC’s LSU Tigers and the Big Ten’s Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions with identical 8-0 starts.
Something is going to have to give with LSU on the road against Alabama on Saturday, Nov. 9 and Ohio State playing host to Penn State later in the month on Nov. 23. There is also a host of one-loss teams that could factor into this year’s four-team playoff race.
A new season of basketball in the NBA is underway and the early results point to a very competitive season in both the Eastern and Western Conference. The top online books have the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers as the top front runners to win the East. Both Los Angeles teams, the Clipper and the Lakers are holding down the top two spots in the NBA betting futures to win the West. These four teams are a combined 10-2 to start the season.
The NHL’s new season returned to the ice in early October and heading into the new month the surprising Buffalo Sabres have been the early story in the Eastern Conference at the top of the Atlantic Division. The defending champion St. Louis Blues are right in the mix as one of the top teams in the West. This conference runs deep in talented teams to keep both divisions tight deep into the standings.
The biggest betting news for November is the start of another season of college basketball. The first tip-offs on the schedule are set for Tuesday, Nov. 5 with the Top 5 teams in nation playing that day. The top-ranked team in the preseason AP Top 25 is the Big Ten’s Michigan State Spartans followed by the SEC’s Kentucky Wildcats. These two powers will square off against one another on the fifth in the State Farm Champions Classic.
Rounding out the betting action in November, you have the annual Breeders’ Cup of horse racing on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 at Santa Anita Park. NASCAR’s Cup Series will crown its new champion on Sunday, Nov. 17 in the final race of the season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. North of the border, this year’s Grey Cup Championship in the CFL is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 24.
