It appears to be a lock that the New England Patriots will be back in the postseason to defend last season’s NFL title at a perfect 8-0 through the first half of their schedule. They already have a two and a half-game lead over the next best teams in the AFC.

The New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers are off to 7-1 starts in the NFC as two of the top favorites to win the NFC this season. A new season of basketball in the NBA is underway and the early results point to a very competitive season in both the Eastern and Western Conference. The top online books have the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers as the top front runners to win the East. Both Los Angeles teams, the Clipper and the Lakers are holding down the top two spots in the NBA betting futures to win the West. These four teams are a combined 10-2 to start the season.

The defending champion St. Louis Blues are right in the mix as one of the top teams in the West. This conference runs deep in talented teams to keep both divisions tight deep into the standings.
